As announced at the closing ceremonies at Otakon 2012, we’re teaming with Japanese music label LANTIS to kick off our 20th year with our first stand-alone music festival. And we’re bringing back one of our more popular guests (and a few of their friends) to make sure we start off strong.
Anime song supergroup JAM PROJECT consists of Hironobu Kageyama, Masaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, and Masami Okui. JAM PROJECT is probably best known for performing the themes to the Super Robot Wars games, as well as many other theme songs including Sgt Frog, MazinKaiser, and Transformers: Animated. Each individual member has a thriving solo career as well. The group is currently on a tour of South America, and sent a video message to Otakon expressing their joy at returning to see their fans in the U.S.

Joining them will be singer Faylan, who is best known for themes to Mobile Suit Gundam AGE and CANAAN, and singer Natsuko Aso, whose credits include themes for Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts (1 & 2) and the live-action drama Negima! Magister Negi Magi.
We’re working hard to make this a one-of-a-kind experience, so here’s what you can look forward to. In MID SEPTEMBER, we’ll announce a limited set of VIP passes, which will be a SEPARATE ITEM (they don’t include show admission). These will be EXCLUSIVE for Otakon 2012 members, and will include admission to a meet-and-greet. We’re working on our official T-shirt, the profits from which will go to ongoing disaster recovery efforts in Japan. And of course, there will be a few special contests and give-aways (at least one of them open to people who missed out on Otakon 2012) along the way. Stay tuned for more info — and don’t worry, it’ll be announced on the usual Otakon sites: the website, the forums, rss feed, Facebook, Twitter, and so forth.
