Otakorp extends our deepest sympathy to Japan and those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011. The road to recovery is long and challenging and they will continue to need our support today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
Otakon 2012 brings you several ways in which you can give back to Japan at the convention. We ask you for your support to raise both money and awareness.

We are offering some truly rare and exciting, one of a kind items this year. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Japan relief efforts. Come, bid often, bid high!
We will be selling special limited-edition Japan Relief themed merchandise at the Otakon Merchandise Table in the Dealers Room to support relief efforts. These include:
T-shirts
Buttons
Wristbands
These items are limited in quantity, so please stop by early if you’d like to show your support in this way.
For a $5 donation, you can receive a special Japan Relief Badge Ribbon to show everyone that you support Japan. You can find them at the Otakon Merchandise Table in the dealers room. 100% of your donation from this effort goes to charity.
If you are registering at the door, you can donate while you are registering. The ribbons will always be available at the Otakon Merchandise table throughout the weekend.
Our industry partners, former and current guests, staff, and others have dug deep to find some great items for this year’s auction, taking place in the Artist Alley on Sunday from 10am - 3pm. 100% of the proceeds from the Charity Auction will go towards relief efforts.
Donations for 2012 will be going to The Japanese Red Cross Society.
Our website will also list ways you can continue to support Japan in the future, so please stay tuned after the convention.
